Where Are The Mad Ones?

About to watch Kerouac's On The Road. 
But why does it have to be Kristen Steward playing one of the roles? I despise her acting skill. Her flat expression and empty stare bore the hell out of me. The one and only breaking through performance of hers was when she played that sick kid in Panic Room (in my opinion).

Everytime I went to Kinokuniya, stumbling upon books, Kerouac's On The Road has always been one of my desires to own. I don't know why I haven't bought it. Probably because I was too in love with Murakami's and afraid will not match with Kerouac's style?
